Why shouldn't I just write my own Will?

Wills are not straightforward documents and if mistakes are made it can be costly, not only financially, but also emotionally, when the time comes to  distribute your Estate.  If there are errors in your Will then upon your death your Estate would be distributed according to the content of the incorrect Will and there will be no way of correcting it. If your Will is deemed to be invalid then your Estate will be distributed in accordance with the Intestacy Rules; a set of rules created by the Government which may not reflect your wishes.

Why shouldn't I just use my local Solicitor?

Will writing is not the only thing that your solicitor will be occupied with and your Will may not get the attention it deserves. It can also be a more costly and  drawn out process, which can leave you frustrated.
